The QCAA Student Portal is where your senior results live. Your confirmed internal assessment marks appear there through the year. Your final subject results, your Senior Statement and your QCE land there at 9 am on Wednesday 16 December 2026. Nobody posts them to you, and your school does not email them.

Getting in takes one number you may never have seen: your LUI. You use it once, to register. After that you log in with an email and a password. A lot of login trouble comes from mixing those two steps up. This guide covers what the portal is, where to find your LUI, how to register and log in, what to do when it will not let you in, and what to check on results day.

What is the QCAA Student Portal?

Three names get used for the same place, which is half the confusion. myQCE is the QCAA's website for senior students, at myqce.qcaa.qld.edu.au. The Student Portal is the secure part of that site you sign in to, through the Access Student Portal button. Your learning account is the record inside the portal that holds your enrolments, results and certificates.

Your school opens the learning account for you. The QCAA says schools open it in the 12 months before you turn 16 or finish Year 10, and Year 10, 11 and 12 students can reach it through the portal. So if you are in senior school in Queensland, an account already exists with your name on it. You only have to register to see it.

Inside the portal you will see a small set of tiles. Each one does a single job.

TileWhat you go there for
My Learning AccountYour subject enrolments, projected QCE eligibility, results as they are released, and your Senior Education Profile once it is issued
My TimetableYour external exam dates and sessions for General subjects
My AARAThe status of any access arrangements your school has applied for on your behalf
My Online LearningThe QCAA academic integrity course, which is one of the QCE requirements
My DetailsYour login email, mobile number and password

One thing you will not find there is your ATAR. QTAC calculates it and releases it through your QTAC account, not the QCAA portal.

What is a LUI, and where do you find yours?

LUI stands for learner unique identifier. It is a 10-digit number the QCAA creates when your school registers you. It is not your school student ID, and it is not the Unique Student Identifier (USI) used for TAFE and VET courses. Students mix all three up, and the portal only accepts the LUI.

The QCAA's answer to "where do I get it" is short: from your school. Ask the school office or your head of senior schooling.

Once you have it, write it down somewhere you will still have after you leave school. The QCAA tells students to keep it "in a safe place", because it keeps coming back:

  • QTAC's application form asks for your LUI and will not accept a school ID or USI in its place.
  • QTAC asks for it to confirm who you are if you need help getting into your ATAR account.
  • Employers and universities check a QCAA certificate is real by entering your family name, your LUI and the document ID printed on it.

Finished Year 12 in 2019 or earlier? The current portal is not for you. The QCAA handles older results through replacement certificates, and its Client Services team can look up an old LUI.

How do you register for the Student Portal?

You need your LUI, your date of birth, and an email inbox you can open while you do it.

  1. Open the portal

Go to myqce.qcaa.qld.edu.au, select Access Student Portal, then Register. Accept the terms of use. The portal will not go further if you decline them.

  2. Enter your LUI and initial password

Type your 10-digit LUI. Your initial password is your day and month of birth as four digits, ddmm. Born on 5 August? It is 0508. The portal then asks you to confirm you are the person that LUI belongs to.

  3. Add a personal email

Use an address you will keep after you leave school, not your school account. The QCAA sends a six-character code to it. The code lasts 10 minutes, so check your junk folder straight away if it does not arrive.

  4. Add your mobile

This step is optional and you can skip it. Adding it means you can reset your password by text if you ever lose access to the email.

  5. Set your own password

It must be 8 to 16 characters, with upper and lower case letters, a number and a symbol. It cannot contain spaces, any of your names or your email address.

The personal email matters more than it looks. Your school account may be closed once you leave. If that is the address on your portal and you forget your password in January, the reset link goes to an inbox you can no longer open. That is exactly when you need the portal most.

How do you log in after you have registered?

With the email and password you chose. Not your LUI.

The LUI and the ddmm birthday code only work once, during registration. Typing them into the login screen afterwards is a common reason students think the portal is broken. The QCAA's own help page answers the question "Why can't I log in with my LUI and password?" with exactly this.

Forgotten the password? Use the reset link on the login screen. It sends instructions to your email, or to your mobile if you added one.

Can't log in or register? The usual causes

Work down this list before you contact anyone. Each line is a problem the QCAA names in its login help, with its fix.

What happensLikely causeWhat to do
Registration rejects your LUI and passwordThe LUI is short, or the password is not in ddmm formPad the LUI with leading zeros to 10 digits. Use 0508, not 5/8 or 05082008.
Registration still fails with both in the right formYour school recorded your LUI or date of birth wronglyAsk your school to check both. Only they can correct your record.
Login fails although registration workedYou are using the LUI instead of your emailLog in with the email and password you set.
"You have exceeded the maximum number of log in attempts"The account locks after 10 failed attemptsAsk your school to unlock it, or send the QCAA an online query from the myQCE contact page.
The reset email never arrivesIt is going to an old school addressReset by mobile if you added one. If not, send the QCAA an online query.

For anything else, the myQCE contact page has an online query form, which the QCAA describes as the fastest route. Questions about QCE eligibility or credits can also go to myQCE@qcaa.qld.edu.au or 1800 804 991.

What your learning account shows, and when

The Results tab fills in over two years, not all at once. Knowing the order stops you panicking about a blank screen in June.

  1. After Units 1 and 2

Each Year 11 subject shows Satisfactory or Unsatisfactory once your school enters it. These results earn QCE credit but do not count towards your final A to E.

  2. From May, Year 12

Confirmed marks for your first internal assessment in each General subject start to appear.

  3. From July

Confirmed IA2 marks may appear if your school opted into mid-year confirmation.

  4. From October

The remaining IA2 and IA3 marks start to be released.

  5. 9 am, 16 December 2026

External assessment results, final subject results and your Senior Education Profile are released.

  6. 9 am, 18 December 2026

QTAC releases ATARs. That happens in your QTAC account, not in the portal.

  7. 13 January 2027

Last day to apply for verification of your certificates, or for a reassessment of an external exam.

  8. 31 January 2027

Last day to ask for free printed copies of your certificates. They are posted in March.

Three things on the way through look like problems and are not.

Ticks and crosses next to your subjects are not passes and fails. They show which units you are enrolled in. Most subjects have four, so four ticks is normal. Changing subjects or schools can leave crosses against units you did not take.

Your portal mark can differ from the mark your teacher gave you. School marks are provisional until the QCAA confirms them. Confirmation checks samples of work from every school against the marking guide, and the portal shows the confirmed mark. If it changed and you think that is a mistake, talk to your school. Our guide to how your subject result is built explains how those marks add up.

Your QCE says "projected". It will until the end of Year 12. The projection assumes you finish everything you are enrolled in. It turns into a real result only once your school enters final results.

Applied subjects work differently. You will not see their internal assessment marks during the year, only the final A to E after Units 3 and 4.

What to do in the portal on results day

Results open at 9 am on Wednesday 16 December. The QCAA does not post paper copies unless you ask, so the PDFs in your learning account are your official documents.

  1. Make sure you can log in before the day

Test your login in the first week of December, not on the morning itself. That leaves time to fix a lockout or a dead school email before you need the portal.

  2. Download your Senior Education Profile

Open the Senior Education Profile tab and save every PDF. That means your Senior Statement, and your QCE if you are eligible. They carry a digital signature and a document ID, so a printout or emailed copy is still official.

  3. Check every line

Every subject, every VET qualification and every QCE credit should be there. Commendation certificates appear in a separate QCE Awards tab if you earned one.

  4. Act on anything wrong before 13 January

A missing subject or wrong detail is a verification application, made in the Verification and reassessment tab. The QCAA asks your school to check what it reported. It will not re-mark internal assessment. A marking error in an external exam is a reassessment, made in the same tab. Our reassessment guide covers when that is worth the fee.

Two days later, on Friday 18 December, your ATAR arrives through QTAC. Have your LUI ready in case QTAC needs to confirm who you are.

Do this before you leave school

Most Year 12 students finish school in November, before any of the dates above. While you are still enrolled you cannot edit your own personal details. Your school has to fix them, and that gets harder once you have left. So the useful time to sort the portal out is now.

  • Register if you have not, and test that your login works.
  • Swap your login email to a personal address in My Details if it is still your school one.
  • Add your mobile number so a lost password never locks you out.
  • Save your LUI somewhere permanent, such as your phone's notes.
  • Check your subject enrolments and tell your school now about anything wrong or missing.
  • Confirm the academic integrity course shows as complete. It is a QCE requirement, and our academic integrity course guide covers it.

Key takeaways

  • The Student Portal, on the myQCE website, holds your learning account, results and official certificates.
  • Your LUI is a 10-digit number from your school. You need it once, to register, and again for QTAC and certificate checks.
  • Register with your LUI and your birthday as ddmm. After that, log in with your email and password.
  • Use a personal email and add your mobile, or a lost password after Year 12 can lock you out when results arrive.
  • Final results and your Senior Education Profile open at 9 am on 16 December 2026. QTAC releases ATARs on 18 December.
  • Report errors before 13 January 2027 through the Verification and reassessment tab.

The rules and dates on this page are from the QCAA's Student Portal FAQs (updated 6 October 2026), its accessing results and learning accounts pages, the Senior Education Profile calendar and the QCAA's Registering for the Student Portal guide, all published under a Creative Commons BY 4.0 licence. The ATAR release date is from QTAC. Dates are reset every year, so check the current calendar if you are reading this after 2026.

Frequently asked questions

What is a LUI number in Queensland?

A LUI, or learner unique identifier, is a 10-digit number the QCAA creates when your school registers you. It is different from your school student ID and from the Unique Student Identifier (USI). You need it to register for the QCAA Student Portal, to apply through QTAC, and for employers to check your certificates.

How do I find my LUI?

Ask your school. The QCAA says your LUI comes from your school or learning provider. If the number you are given has fewer than 10 digits, add zeros to the front. If you finished Year 12 in 2019 or earlier, contact QCAA Client Services instead.

Why can't I log in to the QCAA Student Portal with my LUI?

Your LUI and initial password only work once, when you first register. After registering, you log in with the email address and password you chose during registration. If you have forgotten the password, reset it with your email or mobile number from the login screen.

What is my initial password for the Student Portal?

Your initial password is your day and month of birth in ddmm format. If you were born on 5 August, it is 0508. You use it once, during registration, and then set your own password.

What do I do if I am locked out of the Student Portal?

The portal locks your account after 10 failed login attempts. Ask your school to unlock it, or submit an online query through the myQCE contact page. Then log in with your email and password, not your LUI.

When are 2026 QCE results released in the Student Portal?

Final subject results and Senior Education Profiles for 2026 Year 12 students are available in the Student Portal from 9 am on Wednesday 16 December 2026. QTAC releases ATARs separately, from 9 am on Friday 18 December 2026.
