Community Guidelines
The ISMGenius community is where Queensland senior students ask questions, share resources and revise together. These rules keep it useful and safe. They form part of our Terms of Use. New here? See how the QCE study group works.
- Explain how you planned something, what a criterion is asking for, or how you would tackle a kind of question. Share practice questions you wrote yourself, and notes in your own words.
- Don’t post a completed or draft assessment response, yours or anyone else’s, and don’t ask for one. QCAA calls giving or receiving a response collusion, and it applies to both people.
- Don’t offer to write, finish or edit someone’s assessment, for money or for free. Paying for or trading a response is contract cheating.
- Don’t post questions or answers from an external exam. Some students sit a paper later because of illness or an AARA.
- If you are not sure, describe the problem you are stuck on rather than pasting the work.
- Helpers keep the same rules. A Helper tag means someone offered to answer questions in a subject, not that they are a teacher, and no one should check a draft that will be marked.
- Don’t post contact details of any kind. That includes phone numbers, email addresses, social media handles, invite links and where you live.
- Everything here happens in the open, in rooms other members can read. There are no private messages, and no one should ask you to move the conversation somewhere else.
- Don’t post anything that identifies another student or a teacher, such as their full name, photo or a screenshot of their work.
- Your display name is how you appear. You choose it, and you can change it in the community at any time.
- No bullying, harassment, hate, threats or sexual content. Not as a joke either.
- Keep language classroom-friendly. Members are in Years 10 to 12.
- Answer the question that was asked. Everyone here started somewhere.
- Celebrate other people’s wins. Don’t compare marks to make someone feel worse.
- Say so when you are guessing. Rules about deadlines, AARA, word counts and ATAR come from your school, QCAA and QTAC, so check the important ones with them.
- Feedback from other members and from ISMGenius is a guide to improving your work. It is not a mark, and it does not replace your teacher.
- Use Report on a message that breaks these guidelines. Reports are private, and a moderator reviews every one.
- You can mute anyone. You will stop seeing their posts, and they won’t be told.
- If you or someone else is not safe, contact Kids Helpline on 1800 55 1800 or Lifeline on 13 11 14, any time. In an emergency, call 000.
- Posts are checked automatically when they are sent. Contact details and shortened links are refused. Posts that look like sharing or asking for assessment, selling, or anything harmful wait for a moderator before anyone else sees them.
- Moderators are ISMGenius staff. They can remove a post, lock a thread, and pause or remove someone’s access to the community. Serious or repeated breaches can also lead to an account being closed under our Terms of Use.
- A post that three different members report is hidden until a moderator reviews it.
- If a post suggests someone may not be safe, they are shown where to get help straight away and a moderator is told.
- If you think a moderator got it wrong, email support@ismgenius.com from your account’s email address and tell us which post. A different staff member will look at it.
How we handle what you post in the community, including the automated checks, is set out in our Privacy Policy. Our Academic Integrity guide explains why sharing assessment is treated so seriously.
